GUYS. This wedding has been my most favorite ever! I showed up to the Wyndham Hotel in Virginia Beach and was greeted by the BEAUTIFUL Victoria, with her hair and makeup already done and extremely perfect! I squealed with excitement when she showed me her dress, bouquet, and other details, but ESPECIALLY when I saw the blue shoes! I love blue things so much!
I immediately got to work and started photographing details with a little help from my assistant, Amanda, and Cara (my BFF) who was Victoria’s makeup artist. I was so excited to see all the efforts Victoria made and putting together all the details that fit in with her theme. The bridesmaids dresses, the flowers, the jewelry….everything went together so well! And her bridemaids, Tatiana and Valentina were so sweet! Her mom was also so much fun making some goofy faces while helping Victoria in her wedding dress.
After I headed to First Landing State Park where Josh and his best man were waiting. I snapped a few photos of them while Victoria was on her way for her first look! (Side note: HUGE FAN of First Looks!) They had chosen the big old oak tree for their portrait spot, and although the clouds were being a pain in my butt, we made this beautiful location work! The sun and clouds were all over the place and I have to keep changing my cameras settings. A bit frustrating but so worth the trouble!
Victoria slowly walked up to Josh and when he turned around, he made sweet Victoria laugh. He said “Oh wow, a crown? Now I’m going to feel silly when I put on mine.” That was SOOOO cute. They embraced each other before we got started on a few portraits and bridal party pictures.
We arrived at the ceremony site and it was under a tent since the weather had been raining a few minutes earlier. I say tent, but it was more like a greenhouse, and we were all baking when the sun decided to stay out. But everyone totally forgot about the heat once the beautiful bride made her entrance. It was a lovely ceremony and the officiant was so funny!
OHMYGOSH. The reception was SO much fun. Nearly everyone was dancing, but especially Victoria! She was a dancing machine!! And really good at it! I think my fave part of the evening was that epic Conga line!!! Everyone boogied the night away and we ended my coverage time with an epic group shot on the dance floor! This wedding was perfect in every way!
