Inga and Igor are seriously one of the most photogenic couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing! Don’t get me wrong, ALL of my brides are STUNNING, but these two were beautiful in every way! Inga was referred to me by her sister (whom I have a few friends in common with!). Both Igor and Inga live in Boston, but they are from Newport News.

They had a family visit on their calendars which made the perfect opportunity for an engagement session! We discussed a few locations and they ultimately decided on Yorktown for its diverse portrait locations. You can see from my blog that I’m here pretty often! As much as I can’t wait to move back home to New Orleans, Yorktown Beach will definitely be missed.

Inga had been keeping contact with me and was wanting some wardrobe guidance. I helped her choose her 3 AMAZING dresses, and knew the yellow would be absolutely perfect for some water photos at the end of the session. She almost didn’t buy that yellow dress but I’M SO GLAD SHE DID!!! It was my favorite!!

One they arrived we did a warm-up posing session, as I do with all couples to help them learn the core poses. It’s always awkward for couples at first but as I always say, “if it feels weird, you’re doing it right!” No matter what photographers say, posing is a part of the experience regardless! It helps people know they look absolutely incredible by helping them LOOK natural. What feels natural and what appears natural are very different, and all my couples can attest to this!

Hanging out with these two lovebirds was so fun and I couldn’t have wished for a better outcome. I’ve been so excited to shoot their wedding and meet their families, who are from the same country as my husband! Well technically not, but Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia were all one country a few decades ago- Yugoslavia!

They are getting married at the Historic Post Office in February of next year and I’ll be flying here for it! Seriously CAN NOT WAIT!! I’m also hoping to train my husband to second shoot weddings with me so he can come along! Wouldn’t that be cool!? (If we don’t kill each other, anyways!) LOL!
