Zoe + Jordan | A Morgan City Engagement

Cypress trees & Spanish moss galore!

Okay okay, I’ve been totally slacking about blogging the past few weeks! With my trip to New Orleans, and catching up on editing, it just hasn’t been a priority. But I’m finally back in action and super excited to finally share Zoe and Jordan’s Morgan City engagement photos!!

If I’m remembering correctly, Zoe had found me on Facebook a while back when I ran an ad for wedding photography in Louisiana. Since I’ll be moving my entire business 1000+ miles away, I needed to market myself there to get my name out! Her and I hit it off immediately during our Facetime consult. She was SUPER organized (LOVE THAT!) and had a list of questions for me. Some photographers might find this annoying, but personally I really like when brides are prepared and know exactly what they want! Leaves no room for miscommunication.

Before I had booked a wedding in New Orleans, I didn’t think I’d even be able to travel home to do their engagement photos. But thankfully the stars aligned and I had a reason to visit home, shoot a wedding, AND do their photos! She was super excited (as was I) that we were able to make it happen!

Ok, so fast forward to my trip…

Two days after I arrived in New Orleans, my grandma and I traveled to Morgan City (which I had never been to before) to finally meet Zoe and Jordan! My grandma was concerned about me driving alone at night since it was pretty far away. She loved Zoe and Jordan just as much as I did! We first met up at CC’s coffee house for a quick coffee, then headed to a beautiful little park. We pulled in and it was just AMAZING! I’m basically obsessed with Spanish Moss and it was everywhere!! YAASSSS!!!

I taught them a few poses and it was immediately clear which one they were amazing at! Literally every couple has that ONE pose that looks so natural and amazing for them. They freaking nailed it! What I loved even more is how goofy Jordan was and how Zoe kept giggling at him! They were so freaking cute you guys!!

The clouds started to heavily roll in and I was shooting in dull blue light almost the entire time, and with all the trees, it was getting too shadowy. They suggested heading to the river area where I could have better access to open sky. So glad we went there! All the cute buildings, the Mississippi (totally had to sing that in my head to spell it, LOL) river, and the palm tress were amazingggg!

I LOVED every second with these two!

I’m so looking forward to moving back to New Orleans just so I can see them more! Totally a new friendship! Also insanely excited for their barn wedding in February!! AHHHHH! Congratulations, Zoe and Jordan!! Miss you guys so much!!

PS: This random squirrel greeted us when we arrived… Look at the nuts on this thing! LMFAO 🤣

THIS SILHOUETTE, Y’ALL 😍

I had to save the best for last! Hehe! Okay so I can ONLY take credit for the capturing and edit of this image, but the idea was ALL Jordan!! I rarelyyy do silhouettes but I’m so freaking glad I did!! It’s my FAVORITE!!! This is the magic of Morgan City. I loved it there!
