Amber + Brad | Historic Post Office Wedding

My favorite wedding yet!

Amber and Brad finally tied the knot this weekend at the Historic Post Office! I absolutely adore this couple but was rather nervous to photograph their wedding! This may sound silly, but Amber is an amazing photographer herself, and I didn’t want to disappoint! 😜

Upon arriving to the Historic Post Office last Friday afternoon, all the beautiful reception details were arleady set up. I was blown away by the flowers especially- and even MORE so when Amber told me she did all the arrangements and bouquets herself! WHAT?! They looked SO expensive- never would have guessed they were DIY! After shooting a few reception details I headed upstairs to the bridal suite!

Me and my amazing second shooter, Ashley, started capturing all the detail shots. The colors were all so incredible! From the invitations, the flowers, and even Amber’s jewelry, not a detail was overlooked when it came to her colorful wedding palette. Amber then got in her dress and WOW- she looked STUNNING!! She always has such a calm and peacful energy about her so I asked if she was nervous in which she replied “OH YEAH!”

Soon it was time for the first look, and I went and found a spot outside where there was some shade. I went inside to get Amber and realized she was sharing some happy tears with her sweet bridesmaids! A few minutes later she was ready, and walked up to Brad who was just in awe of her beauty! They shared some hugs and kisses, but my favorite part was when amber announced to brad the best thing about her dress “It has POCKETS!!” After the first look we did some bridal party portraits and then Amber & Brad’s!

Ceremony Time!

Amber walked down the big staircase but apparently some big curtains were obstructing the view until she came from behind them- So brad didn’t get to see that! But I had my second shooter over there so she could capture that! Super grateful for second shooters! The ceremony positioning behind the arches was THE BEST because I was able to sneak to the other side and shoot some great up close shots of Brad and Amber! I know I have quite a few Historic Post Office brides this year and I’ll definitely ask them to do that set-up as well!

After the Ceremony was family formals. We walked outside the and sun was just way too harsh to shoot in directly in front of The Historic Post Office. I was getting really upset because the forecast had called for clouds. WELL FINALLY after waiting a few minutes the clouds rolled in and we were able to get a few more bridal party shots there too! Those shots are the main reason brides love the Historic Post Office so much. It truly is a BEAUTIFUL venue!

The reception

Brad and Amber entered their reception and danced their first dance as husband and wife. They were both so happy and its totally obvious from those pictures! AHH they are adorable! After eating some yummy Mission BBQ, Brad and Amber played the shoe game!! If you haven’t heard of it- look it up! SOOO funny and guests love it! Dancing began shortly after the cake cutting and DJ Karisma had everybody on their feet (as usual)! It looked like everyone was really enjoying the reception!

At the end of the night I began to set up my flashes outside the Historic Post Office and then got some people for the sparkler exit. The sparklers were VERY SHORT so I was a little nervous about making it all work out. Luckily IT DID! woo!! I’m so thankful Amber and Brad trusted me for their big day. It was truly an honor serving this awesome couple and I can only hope that I exceeded their expectations! I wish these two happy life-long marriage!

CONGRATULATIONS, Brad and Amber!
