Hi friends! Welcome to the AKP Blog! I'm Ashley Kapic and I'm a New Orleans + Gulf coast wedding photographer. Snuggle up with your love and feel free to browse around for some inspiration and enjoy viewing my latest work! Thanks for stopping by!
Monday is back with a vengeance and I’m blogging and editing my life away! But nevertheless, I’m super excited to share Whitney and Chris’s beach engagement session with you guys!
A local photographer posted in a Tuesdays Together Facebook group about a couple needing engagement photos, and I shared my information! I was actually SHOCKED when Whitney reached out when I was like one of 40 photographers to put down their information- I really didn’t think I’d stand a chance with all the other amazing photographers! But SO glad Whitney loved my work and hired me.
She and her Fiance, Chris, recently got engaged but haven’t had time to do engagement portraits yet. They are both busy medical school students and have been doing the long distance thing for a while. Chris was flying in and she wanted to surprise him with a photo session! Whitney had her heart set on a beach session and to include their sweet pup, Chip.
When I met up with them, I liked them instantly! They are both very friendly and I knew we’d have a lot of fun. As we walked to the beach location Chris told me how he proposed (at a sky-high restaurant in Chicago!) and how he figured out her photo session surprise, LOL! Apparently Whitney told him to get a hair cut which gave it away for him. Haha!
Chris and Whitney literally were just themselves the entire time I was with them! They really had NO camera shyness at all! I barely even had to guide them because they were just SO CUTE and lovey-dovey! I was just awkwardly third wheeling with my camera- ha! This couple was pure magic and editing their beach engagement portraits was just as fun as shooting them. Oh and their pup, Chip, was such a good boy! He was super playful and we got lots of action shots of his butt! 🤣
I really enjoyed meeting these two and wish them a long happy marriage! They are tying the knot next year in Whitney’s home state in Wisconsin! Sadly they have one more year of long distance dating before they both are doctors and can be together forever! You got this, guys!!
