Maggie + Ted | Married

Wedding images of bride and groom kissing during their Christmas themed wedding.

So much can be said about Maggie and Ted! Maggie asked me back in the Summer to photograph her Christmas themed wedding. I was so excited! I first met Maggie and Ted at their engagement session at Fort Monroe. Upon meeting them, I knew I loved them and admired the love they shared. So once wedding day came around, I felt like I was hanging out with friends! Both of them are incredibly sweet and laid back, which is always a plus!

I met Maggie at 3 Bowls of Color, the salon where she and her bridal party had their hair and makeup done. I arrived early and to my surprise, everything was running ahead of time! Maggie was super organized and had all her details in a bag ready for me to start photographing. I LOVE when my brides are super prepared! Makes my job so much easier without stressing about time! Yay Maggie- YOU ARE THE BEST!

After finishing up early, I grabbed her wedding gown and the bridesmaids dresses and headed to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. I snapped a few images of the dresses and then the girls got ready. After a teary heartfelt first look with Maggie and her dad, Maggie also chose to do a first look with her groom. It was so intimate and sweet. Ted’s eyes lit up when he turned around to see Maggie in her beautiful dress. I always tear up during those moments!

Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful. Our Lady of Mount Carmel had beautiful Christmas trees behind the alter which was perfect for setting the Christmas theme. There were many times during the ceremony where I also teared up, especially when I caught a glance of Maggie’s younger brother, Michael, with tears down his face in awe of his sister’s new marriage. You guys, Michael is just the sweetest young man ever! It’s so wonderful to see such a sweet brother and sister bond. I set up the perfect shot for Maggie and Ted’s first kiss at the alter, and then WITHOUT NOTICE Ted spun her around and dipped her! It was incredibly cute but it was so fast that I almost missed it!! Haha good job Ted! 🤣

After herding a bunch of family members for family formals, Maggie and Ted hopped in my car and we headed to Christopher Newport University for just married portraits. We were running a bit behind, so we had to hurry back to the reception! We entered and got the ball rolling. After their first dances, the DJ put on some fun music and lots of people were dancing and having a great time. Everyone was so friendly and made me feel so welcome!

My favorite part of the day was probably when the Best Man, Ted’s best friend, made his hilarious speech and handed him a gag gift! You can see him wearing it in a few of the photos! It was too funny!

Maggie and Ted’s wedding went by way too fast and I wish I could do it all over again! It was so much fun to watch such an amazing couple become husband and wife. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them, and I’m happy to have met a sweet amazing friend like Maggie! Congratulations you two!!
